This is an example of people and objects removed from a photo. Whenever you remove something from a photo you must replace it with what would have been there. Thus, the cost of these type of photos varies greatly with the type of background to replace. For instance, when we replace a person with bushes in the background, it's much easier (and less costly) than this type of picture where we replaced parts of walls, banisters, pictures, etc...

Colorizing involves choosing a color for each element of your photo. Then carefully selecting each of those elements, and individually adding color to them. This example involved selecting the car, the hubs, the letters on the car, the house, and the various elements of the face, and clothing - and adding the appropriate color. And as you can see in this example, a colorized photo often has parts that remain black and white. Colorizing often falls in the category of "light alteration" below. This example was a "complex alteration."

Opening eyes is a common need for many photos. We usually do this by using two photos: the photo with the eyes closed, and a second similar photo with the eyes opened. When the two photos are from the same photo session, it is very easy and inexpensive to replace the closed eyes with the open eyes. The cost can be as little as a minor touchup of $5-10. However, when the second photo is from a different photo session, it can be much more difficult to replace the eyes. When choosing a second photo to use, look for similar lighting and face-angle. Sometimes a second photo is not available. In that case, the eyes can be "painted" in.

Retouching is commonly needed for business portraits, senior pictures, and other portraits. We use many of the same techniques as photo restoration. Retouching removes acne, softens wrinkles, brightens dark areas around eyes, braces, and anything else that detracts from the photo. In most cases, retouching costs in the $10-20 range.

Collages are a popular option for special events like Anniversaries, Christmas, Memorials, etc... As you can see, we can make your photos feathered ovals, add drop shadows, and add appropriate text. The cost of collages depends on what needs to be done to each photo, and how long the design and layout takes. The process of making a collage begins with narrowing your choices of photos, then scanning and arranging the photos. Then we have you come watch while we arrange and rearrange your photos to your liking. Once and arrangement is decided upon, then we can do the final printing. Costs can vary from the $30 range up over $100 for more complex collages.
