Colorizing
involves choosing a color for each element of your photo. Then
carefully selecting each of those elements, and individually adding
color to them. This example involved selecting the car, the hubs,
the letters on the car, the house, and the various elements of
the face, and clothing - and adding the appropriate color. And
as you can see in this example, a colorized photo often has parts
that remain black and white. Colorizing often falls in the category
of "light alteration" below. This example was a "complex
alteration."
